Here’s what your kitchen will look like in ten years time
You can make a good meal on something as simple as a campfire, of course, but if you want to cook in comfort, the good news is that it’s becoming easier and easier to do so, thanks to human ingenuity. At the same time, it’s also becoming a lot more interesting.
There’s not a single thing we’ve seen from the exhibition on the ’kitchen of the future’ (held recently in Milan) which we haven’t wanted to try using ourselves.
This is how your kitchen is going to look in the year 2025.
If you place a food product on the ’interactive’ table, you’ll immediately be told a quick recipe you can use it for.
All of the info about the recipe then appears on a screen on the wall.
You can not only chop up ingredients using this new table, but even cook them. Hidden induction coils heat the inside of pots and pans rather than the surface to make the table amenable to working, cooking, or eating.
Meanwhile, the Modern Pantry takes the doors off of your refrigerator to keep your eyes on your food, so you know what you have on hand and won’t overbuy. Refrigerated food is stored in transparent containers that are temperature controlled via an induction-cooling technology that’s embedded into the shelves.
The shelf will keep every food item at that temperature you’ve set until you’re ready to use it.
The temperature appears on the lid of the container.
The Mindful Water System encourages responsible water use. It has two sinks: one for toxic “black water“ that goes out to the sewers and one for ”grey water” that is reused in the dishwasher or to water the plants above the sink.
The Thoughtful Disposal System keeps us conscious of what we’re throwing away. Trash is manually sorted, crushed, vacuum-sealed, and labeled for pick-up.
